CHE to work with the LAPD Inspector General and an amazing team. This week we were selected to serve as the independent monitor of mandated Portland police reforms under the city’s federal settlement agreement over excessive force.I will be joining the team as a subject matter expert on homelessness and unarmed response. Looking forward to expanding our reach to the City of Portland and building with the local community on such a critical issue.
It was great to be back in my hometown County to break ground on a new navigation center project with Hope the Mission in partnership with Many Mansions, Dignity Moves, Ventura County, and the City of Thousand Oaks.
Congratulations to Hope the Mission on the opening of a new interim shelter for families, The Sierra. It’s been a thrill to work with Hope on a number of regional expansion projects these past months, truly moving at the speed of need.
Always a pleasure catching up with one of my favorite changemakers, Dr. Alisa Orduna. I was recently invited as a guest speaker for her Social Justice Social Policy class at USC’s Sol Price School of Public Policy. An inspiring time connecting and sharing knowledge with future leaders with a passion for housing and homelessness policy work.
Our CEO, Che Ramirez, was recently invited by the County of LA to join as a panelist for a conversation on the rise of Latino Homelessness. Insightful conversations from experts and community members.
